Overview

The Kinnect scanner has both RGB video camera and a lidar powered depth sensor. This allows it to detect objects and the distance form the sensor. Data about every pixel of the display and the distance to the nearest object can be accessed. There is a large community of developers that have contributed to the understanding of using kinect sensors in projects. We found that they work well with either a computer or a raspberry pi.
