Apple Mac computers.

In the hackSpace we have a bench of 15 computers for you to use for programming and file editing, there is space to set out work that requires a serial connection to the computer. One of the computers can be linked to a projector. The space is used for face to face inductions to the hackSpace.

3D printing

The hackSpace is where we keep our 3D printers. We have two in regular operation. The Z18 and the Makerbot mini. To print from either of these printers, make an appointment to see the digital making technician by booking a consultation. The technician will check and prepare the files before sending them to the printer. The cost of the print is based on material used. We currently charge 20p per gram. If you need help preparing the file then feel free to talk to a technician who can help.

Soldering stations

We have three benches set aside for soldering work. They are fully ventilated with all relevant PPE supplied. To use a soldering station, please book on the online form found from this link.

Project benches

We have a few project benches where you are able to leave work in progress, particularly for big projects that cannot be moved easily.

Equipment store

We keep our full range of equipment ready for loan close to hand so we can prototype quickly. If there is specific equipment you need, book it through the website then come and collect it when ready.
